Sensors and Materials at the WSI

The research activities in the Sensors and Materials group focus on the growth and characterization of wide bandgap semiconductors such as the group III-nitrides (AlGaN) or metal oxides (ZnMgO) as well as their hetero- and nanostructures. In addition, the application of these materials in chemical and biochemical sensors is investigated. In particular, chemical functionalization and covalent immobilization of functional biomolecules for biosensors and bioelectronic systems is studied.
