Year: 2011

My diploma thesis focuses on optical and  structural characterization of GaAs nanowires and AlGaAs/GaAs core-shell nanowire structures grown by catalyst-free molecular beam epitaxy on Si (111) using different SiOx templates. The measurement technique mainly used is low temperature spatially resolved µ-photoluminescence spectroscopy. Moreover my work includes measurment by SEM, HRXRD and AFM . These investigations aim to achieve a better understanding of optical and structural properties of GaAs nanowires, that are required for future optoelectronic and quantum devices.
